Events of note:

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER
Stillwater is heading into its 24th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner and we need your help again! For the second year, we will have the Dinner at the 1st United Methodist Church Family Life Center at 7th & Duck. As last year, this provides enough space for dinner guests to take their time and truly enjoy the day without feeling the need eat quickly and provide a seat to others. After all, the major purpose of the Dinner has always been to celebrate our friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens, and simply to give thanks!
You can help in one of the following ways:
     ** AS A FOOD PROVIDER!
We need cooked turkeys & hams! Salads are also needed, cranberry, jello, or other! Pans of candied Sweet Potatoes are another delight to have! Turkeys & hams need to be dropped off at the Community Center between 6:00 & 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. If you can carve your turkey this year, that would help, although we do have some backup turkey carvers the night before if you cannot. Other food items should be dropped off at the Methodist Church between 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. the night before or between 8:00 & 10:00 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.
** AS A WORKER! We need help from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. the night before Thanksgiving & we have work slots from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day! Please indicate below if & when you would like to work! You can only work one shift (2 hours or less in length) & then you are required to VISIT with people & ENJOY the Day!
** AS A DONOR! Monetary gifts are also needed to purchase drinks, paper items, decorations, potatoes, corn, & green beans. Checks may be made out to:
Thanksgiving Dinner-FUMC & mailed to Pat Dorr, 101 Georgia, Stillwater, OK, 74075. Any funds left over go to Love Feast & Mission of Hope activities!
By everyone pitching in a little, we are able to feed over 700 people without placing a burden on anyone! This broad participation also helps to make this dinner what it is supposed to be - a CELEBRATION by OUR COMMUNITY! Remember, the Dinner is for ALL people in Stillwater from all walks of life who want to share the warmth of this special day with their fellow brothers & sisters! Call the church office (372-5580) to let us know how you will help.
