Mission Outreach
The people of First Presbyterian Church are deeply committed to mission ministries whether denominational, non-denominational, or local. In response to God's love, the FPC congregation supports mission projects in various capacities, including financial gifts, volunteer hours, use of the church building by external organizations, volunteer staff time, and personal commitments of members. We endeavor to act as God's hands in the community, our neighborhoods, the broader community, and the world. Some of our current mission outreach activities include:
Community Food Offering
Make A Difference Day
Love Feast
Mission of Hope Life Skills Classes
School Supplies/Yearbooks
Giving Tree
Alternative Gift Market
The Alternative Gift Market is held in October. Each year the congregation is provided an opportunity to purchase handicrafts from artisans in developing countries or provide financial support for medicine, livestock, or other items to improve the quality of life of those in need around the world. Handicrafts are ordered from SERRV International and the support gifts are selected through the AGI program. Local projects include donations toward Habitat for Humanity, the Ikiliwindi "Salt, Soap and Medicine" project, and the Reynosa Mission.

Equal Exchange Interfaith Coffee Program
"Good Coffee for a Good Cause" - This program to supports poor farm families who produce coffee and tea around the world. Coffee prices remain low, spelling disaster for some 25 million small coffee producers, their families and communities. Isolated from markets, farmers - from El Salvador to Ethiopia to Indonesia - are being paid pennies per pound for their harvest. In collaboration with Equal Exchange's Interfaith Coffee Program, an organization that buys coffee from small farmers at fair prices and markets it in the United States, our congregation purchased more than $1,000 of coffee and tea! We will continue to fill orders or sell coffee on the first and third Sunday of every month. Look for the cart in the library
