University Fellowship
All University students (Presbyterian or not!) are invited to join in any of our fellowship and study opportunities. Whether you are interested in an in-depth Bible study or just some time for conversation and thinking about faith, there is a place for you at First Presbyterian!____________________
Sunday Worship -
First Presbyterian Church offers two separate worship service opportunities for Sunday morning. The 8:30 service is typically has a little smaller crowd and communion is served every week. The 11:00 service has the chancel choir and is broadcasted over KSPI (AM 780) radio. We would love you have you at either or both of these services!
Sunday Morning Bible Study - Spring 2009
University students are welcomed to join the University Fellowship class or any of the adult Sunday School classes each week from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Members of the University Fellowship will lead discussions this spring based on Rob Bell's NOOMA series. EVERYONE, including University students, is thoroughly welcome to attend. The name NOOMA is an English phonetic spelling of the Greek word pneuma, which is commonly translated to "spirit" or "breath".
NOOMA is a series of short films that explore our world from the perspective of Jesus. NOOMA is an invitation to search, question, and join the discussion. Bell is a noted postmodern Christian author. These films will be sure to spark thoughtful discussion.
University Fellowship - Contact Associate Pastor Leah Hrachovec for
more information on any of these activities.

The first Tuesday of each month is Movie Night! Movie nights always include homemade food, a through-provoking film, thoughtful discussion, and widely varying movie reviews! Movie nights are usually 7:30-10:00 p.m. at a private residence.
This year, we will meet weekly at The Daily Grind (inside the Hideaway) for our Tuesday Night Bible Study at 7:00 p.m. (Note the time change) We will take a look at the book of Acts, and use N.T. Wright's Acts for Everyone to guide our discussion. Contact Associate Pastor Leah Hrachovec for a copy of the book. The coffee is on us!
Need to grab a quick lunch? Don't want to eat alone? Come for Thursday Lunch at the Hideaway, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., to have great pizza, soups, salads, sandwiches at the Hideaway's university view room. Lunch is on your own, and we'll enjoy informal conversation with each other, Leah, and sometimes other church staff and friends.

FIRST "Wednesdays at the Well ("The Well") -
"The Well" is the Wednesday night program going on at our church. Dates for the Well in Fall 2008 are September 3, October 1, November 5, plus a special Advent series December 3, 10, & 17.
From 5:30-7:00 p.m., all ages get together for a simple meal followed by an intergenerational fellowship and activity time. At 7:00 p.m. will be an alternative style worship service (Taize, contemporary, etc.)
There is no cost for University students to attend this event; however, please make a reservation with the church office (372-5580) by Noon on the Tuesday prior to that week's "Well" so that we may have enough food and materials for each individual.
Faith Families -
Faith Families places individuals and families with other individuals and families to encourage them to worship and fellowship together. Old with young; families with singles; collegians with a family; young marrieds with older couples...the possibilities are endless for new friends and new shared experiences!
