Sunday Worship -
First Presbyterian Church offers two separate worship service opportunities for Sunday
morning. The 8:30 service is typically has a little smaller crowd and communion is served every week. The 11:00 service has the chancel choir and is broadcasted over KSPI (AM 780) radio. We would love you have you at either or both of these services!
Sunday Morning Bible Study -
University students are welcomed to join in any of the adult Sunday School classes.
-
"Seasons of the Spirit" - A Lectionary based study, incorporating art, music, and other modern media
-
"Abiding Bible Study" - This ongoing study for adults is led by class members. Study and discussion starts at the Creation account in Genesis; studies the bible sequentially through the Great Feast in Revelation; then begins the journey again in Genesis.
-
Adult Short-term Studies - Various topics are discussed from politics to science to the Middle East; Family issues; and studies pertaining to the current church holiday - and how they affect believers and how believers should respond. For more information on current offerings for adults, click here.
University Fellowship -
If there's anything we like to do in FPC University Fellowship, it's hanging out together. Here are several opportunities during the week to do so.
-
Movie Night - the First Tuesday of the month at 7:00p is Movie Night. We'll get together at different locations with a meal, popcorn, and films that give good "food for thought" (that is, not just "religious" movies).
In April: The Apostle, starring Robert Duvall. Homemade dinner also served at 7:30p before film at 8:00p. Email Lhrachovec@swbell.net for more information and movie location.
-
Tuesday Night Break - 2nd, 3rd, 4th, (and sometimes 5th) Tuesdays we get together at 8:00p at Third Place on the Strip. There is discussion on scripture, current events, and life in general - and very relaxed!
-
Thursday Lunch at Hideaway's "Pizza by the Slice" - from 11:30a-1:00p, one or more of the ministerial staff persons will be at the Hideaway for casual conversation and fellowship over lunch. Lunch is on your own, and you may stay for as little or as long as your schedule allows. We'll be there!
FIRST "Wednesdays at the Well ("The Well") -
"The Well" is the Wednesday night program going on at our church. Dates for the Well in Spring 2008 are April 2, and May 7.
From 5:30-7:00 p.m., all ages get together for a simple meal followed by an intergenerational fellowship and activity time. At 7:00 p.m. will be an alternative style worship service (Taize, contemporary, etc.)
There is no cost for University students to attend this event; however, please make a reservation with the church office (372-5580) by Noon on the Tuesday prior to that week's "Well" so that we may have enough food and materials for each individual.
Faith Families -
Faith Families places individuals and families with other individuals and families to encourage them to worship and fellowship together. Old with young; families with singles; collegians with a family; young marrieds with older couples...the possibilities are endless for new friends and new shared experiences!
For more information on The Well or Faith Families, contact Jenna Campbell, Director of Youth and Family Ministries at 372-5580, or youthandfamily@swbell.net Also, come visit our display in the church Narthex, or visit the Faith Families page by clicking here.
