Sunday Morning Worship Services
We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. At various times during the regular liturgical year, and during the summer months, only one worship is observed at 9:30 a.m.
Our services are traditional, following the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship and the Directory for Worship. The hearing of God's Word in Scripture and preaching is central, and music also plays an important role.
Children are invited to stay for the entire worship service, and a special children's worship bag containing a child's version of the order of service and some activity sheets is provided for the children. These are found on a wooden "tree" at the back of the Sanctuary.
Child care is available for infants and toddlers in the church nursery during both worship services and Sunday school.
Children and Worship
Most Sundays following the Time With Children in the 11:00 worship, children five years old through the 4th grade may leave the sanctuary and go to the On Location room (2nd floor) for Children and Worship. This is an opportunity for kids to experience the essential parts of worship in an age-appropriate manner. It includes music, sign language, storytelling... They are encouraged to "wonder" about the biblical stories and the mysteries of God, and also to retell the stories themselves. Parents may pick up their children in On Location following worship.
Morning Prayers
Morning Prayers are held at 8:45 a.m. each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday (with Communion) in the church library.
Special Worship Services
Special worship services held throughout the year include Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Youth Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, World Communion Sunday, Joint Reformation Sunday with an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and Stewardship Sunday.
