March 2007 - Building and stabilizing the frame

Blessing of the Frame, Sunday, March 25, 2007

The outside of the building comes together rather quickly...

With all the rain we have had this spring,
it was truly a miracle that the weather
held long enough for the roof to be finished.
Bricking gets underway.

"Building with Prayer"
The congregation was given the opportunity to take a prayer "brick", either from a display in the Narthex, or that were sent to them in the mail in one of the newsletters. They were encouraged to return them to the Narthex or the church office, where they would be kept until time to install them in the walls of the new building - thus, surrounding it with their prayers.
The large poster in this picture was made by the kids during one Sunday's "Time with Children", and the small orange paper to the right is just one of the many prayers Pastor Edwards put in the walls before the drywall was installed. |
The new chiller in place.
A First Look Inside...

Workers dig the geothermal wells. (Now complete, the church has already seen energy savings over previous years!)
We bid a farewell to the old gas station

In between bouts of rainy weather, construction of the new parking lot and sidewalks got underway.
