Racial Wealth Gap Learning Simulation for adults and 6th-12th graders

Register for the simulation here by Wednesday, Nov. 3

Our youth group and our anti-racism group are getting together to participate in a racial wealth gap simulation and you’re invited! All those grade 6 to adults are invited (whether you participate in the anti-racism group or not).

The Simulation is an interactive tool that helps people understand the connections among racial equity, hunger, poverty, and wealth. The purpose of this learning simulation is to help participants understand the role of racial inequity in policies and their implementation. Participants will learn how federal policies created structural inequalities in many areas (e.g., property ownership and education) and how these policies increase hunger and poverty in communities of color. The simulation guides participants to an understanding of why racial equity is so important to ending hunger and poverty in the United States. The Racial Wealth Gap Learning Simulation is a joint effort between Bread for the World and NETWORK.

Masks will be required for all participants and we will spread out in the Fellowship Hall, seating four people to a table. Child care is available (please note children needing child care using the registration form above).

The Pay It Forward Challenge is an opportunity for FPC 1st-12th graders to experience the joy of generosity and make an impact in this world.
